Welcome to Veridian Press! The terms "we", "us" and "our" refer to Veridian Press. Veridian Press operates this store and website, including all related information, content, features, tools, products and services, in order to provide you, the customer, with a curated shopping experience (the "Services"). Veridian Press is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you.
The below terms and conditions, together with any policies referenced herein (these "Terms of Service" or "Terms") describe your rights and responsibilities when you use the Services.
Please read these Terms of Service carefully, as they include important information about your legal rights and cover areas such as warranty disclaimers and limitations of liability.
By visiting, interacting with, or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy [LINK]. If you do not agree to these Terms of Service or Privacy Policy, you should not use or access our Services.
Nothing in these Terms of Service limits or excludes any statutory rights you have as a consumer under the mandatory laws of your country of residence, including EU consumer protection law, which take precedence over any conflicting provision below.
SECTION 1 — ACCESS AND ACCOUNT
By agreeing to these Terms of Service, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your country or region of residence, and that you have given us your consent to allow any of your minor dependents to use the Services on devices you own, purchase, or manage.
To use the Services, including accessing or browsing our online store or purchasing any of the products we offer, you may be asked to provide certain information, such as your email address, billing, payment, and shipping information. You represent and warrant that all the information you provide is correct, current, and complete, and that you have all rights necessary to provide this information.
You are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all of your account activity. You may not transfer, sell, assign, or license your account to any other person.
SECTION 2 — OUR PRODUCTS
Veridian Press sells A Delicious Life, an A5 interactive book/journal designed to be written in by the customer. We make every effort to provide an accurate representation of our products in our online store. However, please note that colors or product appearance may differ from how they appear on your screen due to your device and its settings.
All descriptions of products are subject to change at any time without notice at our sole discretion. We reserve the right to discontinue any product at any time and may limit the quantities offered to any person, geographic region, or jurisdiction, on a case-by-case basis.
SECTION 3 — ORDERS
When you place an order, you are making an offer to purchase. Veridian Press reserves the right to accept or decline your order for any reason at its discretion. Your order is not accepted until Veridian Press confirms acceptance. We must receive and process your payment before your order is accepted.
Please review your order carefully before submitting, as we may be unable to accommodate changes after an order has entered fulfillment. In the event that we do not accept, change, or cancel an order, we will attempt to notify you using the contact details provided at the time of order.
Your purchases are subject to return, exchange, or withdrawal solely in accordance with our Refund Policy and, where applicable, your statutory right of withdrawal described in Section 5a below.
You represent and warrant that your purchases are for your own personal or household use and not for commercial resale or export, unless otherwise agreed with us in writing.
SECTION 4 — PRICES AND BILLING
Prices, discounts, and promotions are subject to change without notice. The price charged will be the price in effect at the time the order is placed, as set out in your order confirmation email. Posted prices include applicable VAT where required by law; shipping, customs, or import charges (where applicable) are shown separately at checkout.
Prices may differ between regions (EU, UK, US) to reflect local taxes, fulfillment costs, and currency. You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate purchase, payment, and account information. You represent and warrant that (i) any payment information you provide is true, correct, and complete, (ii) you are duly authorized to use the chosen payment method, and (iii) you will pay all charges incurred at the posted prices, including shipping and applicable taxes.
SECTION 5 — SHIPPING AND DELIVERY
Depending on your delivery address, your order will be fulfilled and shipped either directly by Veridian Press (for orders shipped within the European Union) or by an independent local print-on-demand and fulfillment partner acting on our behalf (for orders shipped within the United States or the United Kingdom). Estimated delivery times, packaging, and carrier selection may vary accordingly and will be indicated at checkout.
All delivery times are estimates only and are not guaranteed. We are not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers, customs processing, our fulfillment partners, or events outside our reasonable control. Once a product is transferred to the carrier, risk of loss passes to you; however, this does not affect your statutory right of withdrawal under Section 5a, nor any statutory warranty rights under Section 16a.
SECTION 5a — RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL (EU CONSUMERS)
If you are a consumer ordering from within the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of receiving your order, without giving any reason, in accordance with EU consumer protection law (Directive 2011/83/EU).
To exercise this right, you must inform us of your decision to withdraw by a clear statement (e.g. an email to contact@veridianpress.com) before the 14-day period expires. You must then return the product to us without undue delay and in any event no later than 14 days after informing us of your withdrawal, at your own cost unless otherwise stated in our Refund Policy.
Please note: because A Delicious Life is designed to be written in, if you write in, mark, or otherwise use the book beyond what is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics, and functioning, we will deduct a value-reduction amount from your refund reflecting this use. Given the nature of this product, this deduction may amount to up to 100% of the purchase price, as a used, written-in book has no resale or re-use value to us. We do not deny the right of withdrawal itself on this basis — see our Refund Policy for full details.
This right of withdrawal does not apply to orders placed from outside the European Union; customers in the US and UK should refer to our Refund Policy for applicable return terms.
SECTION 6 — INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Our Services, including but not limited to all trademarks, brands, text, displays, images, graphics, product content, video, and audio, and the design, selection, and arrangement thereof, are owned by Veridian Press, its affiliates, or licensors, and are protected by applicable copyright and other intellectual property laws.
These Terms permit you to use the Services for your personal, non-commercial use only. You must not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, republish, download, store, or transmit any material from the Services without our prior written consent. Nothing in these Terms grants you any license or other rights under any patent, trademark, copyright, or other intellectual property of Veridian Press, Shopify, or any third party. All rights not expressly granted herein are reserved by Veridian Press.
Veridian Press's name, logo, product names, designs, and slogans are trademarks of Veridian Press. You must not use such trademarks without our prior written permission. Shopify's name, logo, and related marks are trademarks of Shopify. All other names, logos, and marks on the Services are the trademarks of their respective owners.
SECTION 7 — OPTIONAL TOOLS
You may be provided with access to tools offered by third parties as part of the Services, which we neither monitor nor control. We provide access to such tools "as is" and "as available," without any warranties, and without endorsement. We have no liability arising from your use of optional third-party tools. Any use of such tools is entirely at your own risk.
We may, in the future, offer new features through the Services. Such new features will also be deemed part of the Services and subject to these Terms.
SECTION 8 — THIRD-PARTY LINKS
The Services may contain links to websites operated by third parties. We are not responsible for examining or evaluating the content or accuracy of any third-party materials. If you leave the Services to access third-party sites, you do so at your own risk. We are not liable for any harm related to your use of third-party websites, products, or services. Complaints regarding third-party products should be directed to that third party.
SECTION 9 — RELATIONSHIP WITH SHOPIFY
Veridian Press is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you. Any sales and purchases you make in our store are made directly with Veridian Press. Shopify is not responsible for any aspect of any sales between you and Veridian Press, including any injury, damage, or loss resulting from purchased products. You expressly release Shopify and its affiliates from all claims, damages, and liabilities arising from or related to your purchases and transactions with Veridian Press.
SECTION 10 — PRIVACY POLICY
All personal information we collect through the Services is subject to our Privacy Policy, and certain personal information may also be subject to Shopify's Privacy Policy. By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read these privacy policies.
Because the Services are hosted by Shopify, Shopify collects and processes personal information about your access to and use of the Services. Information you submit may be transmitted to and shared with Shopify, our fulfillment partners in the US and UK, and other third parties, including in countries other than where you reside, in order to provide the Services to you. Review our Privacy Policy for details on how we, Shopify, our fulfillment partners, and other partners use your personal information, and on your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and, where applicable, the UK GDPR.
SECTION 11 — FEEDBACK
If you submit any ideas, suggestions, feedback, reviews, or other content ("Feedback"), you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, sublicensable, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, distribute, and display such Feedback for any purpose, including commercial use. We are under no obligation to keep Feedback confidential, compensate you for it, or respond to it.
We may, but have no obligation to, monitor, edit, or remove Feedback that we determine to be unlawful, offensive, or otherwise objectionable. You represent and warrant that your Feedback will not violate any third-party right and will comply with these Terms. You are solely responsible for your Feedback and its accuracy.
SECTION 12 — ERRORS, INACCURACIES AND OMISSIONS
Occasionally there may be information on the Services containing typographical errors, inaccuracies, or omissions relating to product descriptions, pricing, promotions, shipping charges, transit times, and availability. We reserve the right to correct such errors and to update information or cancel orders if any information is inaccurate, at any time without prior notice, including after you have submitted your order — without prejudice to your statutory rights under Sections 5a and 16a.
SECTION 13 — PROHIBITED USES
You may access and use the Services for lawful purposes only. You may not: (a) use the Services for any unlawful or malicious purpose; (b) violate any applicable law or regulation; (c) infringe our intellectual property rights or those of others; (d) harass, abuse, or harm any person; (e) transmit false or misleading information; (f) transmit unsolicited advertising, "junk mail," or spam; (g) impersonate any person or entity; or (h) engage in conduct that restricts or inhibits anyone's use of the Services or that may harm Veridian Press, Shopify, or other users.
You further agree not to: (a) upload viruses or malicious code; (b) reproduce, duplicate, or exploit any portion of the Services without authorization; (c) collect or track others' personal information; (d) use robots, scrapers, or automated/AI tools to access the Services without authorization; or (e) bypass or circumvent our security or access-control measures. We reserve the right to suspend, disable, or terminate your account at any time if we determine you have violated these Terms.
SECTION 14 — AGENTS
14.1 This section ("Agent Terms") applies if you use, allow, enable, or cause the deployment of an Agent to access, use, or interact with any Services. "Agent" means any software or service that takes autonomous or semi-autonomous action on behalf of, or at the instruction of, any person or entity, without direct supervision.
14.2 No Agent may access, use, or interact with the Services unless it identifies itself and operates in strict accordance with Section 14.4. No Agent may access the Services if we have requested that it refrain from doing so.
14.3 We may limit, including by technical measures, whether and how any Agent accesses, uses, and interacts with the Services.
14.4 Agents must: (i) identify themselves as an Agent in the user agent string of all HTTP/HTTPS requests ("Agent/[agent name]"); (ii) not conceal or obfuscate that interactions are from an Agent, including by mimicking human behavior or bypassing CAPTCHAs; (iii) respond truthfully to any prompt seeking to determine whether interactions are from a human or a computer; and (iv) not circumvent any measure intended to control Agent access to the Services.
SECTION 15 — TERMINATION
We may terminate this agreement or your access to the Services at our sole discretion at any time, and you will remain liable for all amounts due up to the date of termination. The following sections survive termination: Intellectual Property, Feedback, Termination, Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Severability, Waiver, Entire Agreement, Assignment, Governing Law, Privacy Policy, and any other provisions that by their nature should survive.
SECTION 16 — DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
The information presented on the Services is made available for general information purposes. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of this information, and any reliance you place on it is at your own risk.
Except as expressly stated by Veridian Press or required by applicable law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. This disclaimer does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer, including those described in Section 16a below.
SECTION 16a — STATUTORY WARRANTY (EU CONSUMERS)
If you are a consumer, you benefit from the statutory warranty for defects (Gewährleistung) under applicable Austrian and EU law, which currently provides for a warranty period of two years from delivery for physical goods. Nothing in these Terms limits, excludes, or otherwise affects this statutory warranty. If a product is defective, please contact us at contact@veridianpress.com to arrange a remedy in accordance with the law.
SECTION 17 — LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Veridian Press, our partners, directors, officers, employees, affiliates, agents, contractors, service providers, licensors, and those of Shopify and our fulfillment partners, shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, punitive, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services or any product procured through the Services, whether based in contract, tort, strict liability, or otherwise, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including mandatory EU consumer protection law.
SECTION 18 — INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Veridian Press, Shopify, our fulfillment partners, and our respective affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, contractors, and service providers from any losses, damages, liabilities, or claims, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of (1) your breach of these Terms, (2) your violation of any law or third-party right, or (3) your access to or use of the Services.
SECTION 19 — SEVERABILITY
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the fullest extent permitted by law, and the remainder will remain in full effect.
SECTION 20 — WAIVER; ENTIRE AGREEMENT
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver. These Terms, together with any referenced policies, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Services, superseding any prior agreements or communications.
SECTION 21 — ASSIGNMENT
You may not assign this Agreement or your rights or obligations under it without our prior written consent. We may transfer, assign, or delegate these Terms and our rights and obligations without notice to you.
SECTION 22 — GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by Austrian law, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country in which you, as a consumer, are habitually resident, which may also apply and which take precedence where more favorable to you. Consumers residing in the EU may also rely on the courts of their own country of residence for any dispute, in accordance with applicable EU jurisdiction rules.
SECTION 23 — HEADINGS
The headings used in this agreement are included for convenience only and do not limit or otherwise affect these Terms.
SECTION 24 — CHANGES TO TERMS OF SERVICE
We reserve the right to update, change, or replace any part of these Terms of Service by posting updates on our website. It is your responsibility to check periodically for changes. We will notify you of any material changes in accordance with applicable law. Your continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of those changes.
SECTION 25 — DISPUTE RESOLUTION (EU ODR)
If you are an EU consumer and are unable to resolve a complaint directly with us, you may use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr to seek an out-of-court resolution.
